How does Moduly prevent from exporting energy to the grid?

Moduly uses a grid-tie inverter that converts DC energy from the battery into an AC suitable for injecting into an electrical power grid to perform power shifting or peak shaving. When it synchronizes with the grid, the inverter is able to push back energy into the building through the same AC power socket as a solar
panel system, and the energy is consumed at the main panel level. If there is a power outage or the system loses the reference from the grid, it shuts down to prevent damage to the grid network or workers on the line.
